HI, I’M NICOLA

I am a physiotherapist, a wife, a mother of three young children. I am fascinated by the human body – how it is designed and how it functions, the messages that it gives us on a daily basis and the wisdom that it holds.

I’ve worked as a physiotherapist for nearly 20 years, which I love. My journey into integrated health and wellbeing started when I developed severe eczema. I realised that our minds and bodies are connected and I gained a new understanding and respect for the messages my body was sending me. My ill health and eczema were not my body betraying me (although it felt like that at times) but were full of guidance for me on what I needed physically and emotionally in my life. I began to explore other “non-medical” ways of treating my condition, as traditional Western medicine had no answers for me. My passion further developed through my pregnancies, births and learning to mother our children – I realised the power of preparing and nurturing my body, again listening to its wisdom and learning to trust myself. I began to move away from my exclusive focus area of sports and spinal physiotherapy as my interest in, and passion for, women’s health and wellbeing grew.

Through this, my journey has taken me from traditional physiotherapy to a much deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of our health and our lives – how we look after our bodies, what we put into them and on them, how our emotions and stress affect our bodies every day and the incredible power of joy and gratitude! There is so much current research into all these areas and it’s so exciting to see how we can create our health, our vitality and our happiness by making conscious choices and small changes in our lives.

This space is for me to share a lot of what I have experienced, researched and learned about the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of wellbeing in digestible, bite-size pieces to make them accessible to everyone and to allow us all to flourish.
